The 2020 Covid-19 has wallop down the earth without any alarming forthcomings to people endangering thousands of life with just the mere touch of the Covid-19 contaminated person. Therefore, the government of all the countries on the globe has imposed the lockdown on people, which hindered the education of students, moving them to online education to drive their studies at home.

How is the Education Sector responding to COVID-19?

In response to the pandemic, online learning has a mixed result that varies with countries and various factors such as facilities provided like Internet speed, laptop or teachers knows how to use the technology, these all factors are considered.

In China, the government ordered a quarter of a billion full-time students to resume their studies through online platforms. This resulted in the largest “online movement” in the history of education with approximately 730,000, or 81% of K-12 students, attending classes via the Tencent K-12 Online School in Wuhan. With 5G technology becoming more prevalent in countries such as China, the US, and Japan, we will see learners and solution providers truly embracing the ‘learning anywhere, anytime’ concept of digital education in a range of formats.

Coping methods of different Nations:

Online teaching is becoming the prime focus in pandemic to save the academics of students who are graduating or upgrading to the next level, which is giving us the question that, Is online learning is future, or it’s just an option to cope up with Covid-19? For me, Online Studies are just an option because it doesn’t give the authenticity and integrity which the one-to-one teaching offers! Because before the pandemic also, developed countries were offering online courses and they were booming in their field. While, developing countries, have introduced Online studies after the pandemic, which were facing problems of lack of facilities, teachers were not trained to use the technology, the things were almost new to them. So half of the students were sleeping in between classes, or just doing studies on their own.

Online Education Market:

The market of online market will surge to US$ 350 Billion by 2025 due to the flexible learning technologies in the corporate and education sectors. The advanced AI-driven platforms are playing a paramount role in the growth of this market.

The US has surpassed all the other countries in global online education due to its introduction of e-learning courses and distance learning programs and it is now shifting its focus to Virtual reality in educational institutions. China takes a second position while India takes the third position in the past couple of years. India's online market is expected to grow due to cost-effective education, availability of quality education, government’s digital initiatives, smartphone user base, and internet penetration.

Online Platforms:

There are innumerable online learning platforms introduced in the market like Udemy, Coursera, Lynda, Skillshare, Udacity that teaches millions of people. Different platforms are expertise in different verticals. For example, Skillshare is a creative platform which offers courses regarding animation, photography, lifestyle, and Coursera provides access to university courses. Top-tier universities are also offering online courses like Stanford University and Harvard University provide courses under the categories of computer science, engineering, mathematics, business, art, and personal development.

This shows one thing: there’s a huge demand from people to learn online. The reason for this demand and rapid growth of the market with a wide variety of platform options for different groups of people may be the rapid change of the world.

At this time of Covid-19, where people are shifting to online touch rather than human-touch, online learning is a huge catalyzer for people and companies to help the adoption of this rapid change in the world

Advantages of Online Learning:

The database of Online education carries a massive amount of user data which enables those platforms to use machine learning algorithms that can enhance the learning patterns of people. Machine learning algorithms can personalize the content according to the user, For example, when a student repeatedly struggles with a concept at the course, and the platform can adjust the e-learning content to provide more detailed information to help the student.

Another example is time, people can access online class anytime, anywhere without any hassle of rearranging the schedules. This will give a huge opportunity to professional people who are working. While the latest development is proliferating with every new technology and development, it’s crucial for online platforms to change according to the agility of the market.

Another factor of Online Education is Cost structure in the market. Online Courses prove a more affordable option because it cancels out the commute cost, course material requirements, taxes of building, land cost, etc.

Students have the liabilities to choose the mentor for the particular subject, with no hassle of sticking to one assigned teacher and no compulsion of bearing its teaching methods.

In Conclusion,

It is just a question that Online Teaching is the future or not, but the technology for sure gonna change the face of Online teaching, where different mechanisms will be introduced to minus the mediocre methods in Teaching.
